Ontario reports 748 COVID-19 cases, four additional deaths on Thursday


Ontario is reporting 748 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and four additional deaths due to the virus over a 24-hour period.

Ontario’s Minister of Health, Christine Elliott, said 375 of the new cases were identified in individuals who are not fully vaccinated.

Elliott further added that 44 of the new cases are in individuals with an unknown vaccination status.

Meanwhile, Elliott, said 257 people are hospitalized with COVID-19 in Ontario, including 212 individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination and 45 fully vaccinated individuals.

She also added that 137 people are in Intensive Care Unit where they receive treatment for COVID-19.

127 individuals being treated in ICU are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination, Elliott said, adding that 10 others are fully vaccinated.

In Ontario, 22,845,723 vaccine doses have been administered. Nearly 89.1% of Ontarians 12+ have one dose and 86.1% have two doses.
