Ontario reports 780 new cases of COVID-19, five additional deaths

Onatario is reporting 780 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and five additional deaths over a 24-hour period.

Christine Elliott, the Minister of Health of Ontario, said 393 of the new cases were identified in individuals whonare not fully vaccinated.

Elliott further added that 51 cases are in individuals with an unknown vaccination status.

She also added that 296 people are hospitalized with COVID-19. 246 are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 50 are fully vaccinated.

155 people are in ICU due to COVID-19, Elliott said, adding that 133 are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 22 are fully vaccinated.

The Ontario Health on Tuesday reported 687 new cases of COVID-19 and three additional deaths over a 24-hour period.
