Ontario reports 798 new COVID-19 cases and 10 additional deaths


The Ontario Health reported 798 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and 10 additional deaths over a 24-hour period.

Christine Elliott, Ontario’s Minister of Health, said the Ontario Health has identified 798 new positive cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

According to Elliott, 620 cases have been identified in individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown status and 178 cases have been identified among fully vaccinated individuals.

Elliott further added that 465 people are hospitalized with COVID-19 in Ontario, including 331 people who are not fully vaccinated.

She also added that 34 fully vaccinated people are also among the 365 people currently undergoing treatment for COVID-19 in the hospitals.

Meanwhile, Elliott said 185 people are in ICU due to COVID-19, including 174 individuals who are not fully vaccinated while 11 of them are fully vaccinated individuals.
