Ontario reports 887 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday


The Ontario Health on Monday announced that the authorities have identified 887 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in last 24 hours.

Provincial Health Minister Christine Elliott said 397 of the new cases were identified in individuals who are not fully vaccinated.

Elliott further added that 664 of the new cases were identified in individuals with unknown vaccination status.

According to Elliott, individuals who are not fully vaccinated represent 23.3% of Ontario’s total population.

Meanwhile, Elliott, said 137 people are hospitalized with COVID-19, and 168 people are receiving treatment in ICU for the virus.

The Ontario Health also confirmed that three additional deaths were also reported due to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Ontario on Sunday reported 1,184 new cases of COVID-19 and zero deaths over a 24-hour period.
