Ontario reports 9,706 COVID cases on Monday


Ontario is reporting 9,706 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) over a 24 hour period.

Provincial health minister, Christine Elliott, said 2,467 people are currently hospitalized due to COVID-19 in Ontario.

There was an increase of 48 in overall hospitalizations due to COVID-19 in Ontario in the past 24 hours.

Elliott further added that there are 438 people in ICU with COVID-19.

She also added that the seven-day rolling average of COVID-19 related patients in ICU is 349.

Meanwhile, Elliott, said in Ontario, 28,551,554 vaccine doses have been administered, with over 93,000 doses administered yesterday.

According to Elliott, 91.1% of Ontarians 12+ have one dose and 88.4% have two doses.

The Ontario Health on Sunday3 reported 11,959 new cases of COVID-19 and 21 additional deaths over a 24-hour period.
