Ontario is reporting close to 1,184new cases of the novel coronavirus over a 24-hour period.
Christine Elliott, the Minister of Health of Ontario, said 579 of the new cases were identified in individuals who are not fully vaccinated.
Elliott further added that 69 of the new cases were identified in individuals with an unknown vaccination status.
She also added that 140 people are in hospital with COVID-19 and 164 people are being treated in Intensive Care Unit for the virus.
However, she said all hospitals do not report on COVID-19 hospitalizations on weekends.
The Ontario Health did not report additional deaths due to COVID-19 on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Elliott, said 23,976,361 vaccine doses have been administered in Ontario. 90.1% of Ontarians 12+ have receive one dose and 87.3% have received two doses.
