Ontario reports close to 1,300 COVID-19 cases, 10 additional deaths

Ontario is reporting close to 1,300 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and ten additional deaths over a 24-hour period.

“Individuals who are not fully vaccinated represent 23.2% of Ontario’s total population & amount to 590 of Ontario’s 1,290 new reported cases,” Provincial Health Minister, Christine Elliot, tweeted.

Elliott further added that 83 cases are in individuals with an unknown vaccination status.

Currently, 309 people are hospitalized with COVID-19, inckuding 232 who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 77 who are fully vaccinated.

Elliott also added that 155 people are in ICU due to COVID-19. 131 are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 24 are fully vaccinated.

In Ontario, 24,225,882 vaccine doses have been administered. 90.2% of Ontarians 12+ have one dose and 87.4% have two doses.

The Ontario Health on Wednesday reported 1,009 new cases of COVID-19 and 8 additional deaths over 24-hour period.
