Ontario reports nearly 800 new cases of COVUD-19 in past 24 hours


Onatario is reporting nearly 800 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and three additional deaths over a 24-hour period.

Christine Elliott, the Minister of Health of Ontario, said 788 new cases were identified in the past 24 hours.

Elliott further added that 439 of the new cases were identified in individuals who are not fully vaccinated.

cases are in individuals with an unknown vaccination status, she added.

She also added that 145 people are hospitalized with COVID-19, and 148 people are in ICU due to COVID-19.

According to Elliott, 22,950,908 vaccine doses have been administered in Ontario so far. 89.7% of Ontarians 12+ have one dose and 86.3% have two doses.

Earlier, Elliott, said two cases of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 have also been identified in Ontario.

The Ontario Health on Sunday reported 964 cases of COVID-19 over a 24 hour period.
