Ontario is reporting over 1,600 nee cases of COVID-19 and five additional deaths over a 24 hour period.
Provincial Health Minister Christine Elliott said the health authorities identified 1,607 new cases of COCID-19 in the last 24 hours.
Elliott further added that 654 of the new cases were identified in individuals who are not fully vaccinated.
“Individuals who are not fully vaccinated represent 23.1% of Ontario’s total population and amount to 654 of Ontario’s 1,607 new reported cases. 89 cases are in individuals with an unknown vaccination status,” Elliott said in statement posted online.
Currently, 323 people are hospitalized with COVID-19. 239 are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 84 are fully vaccinated.
146 people are in ICU due to COVID-19, Elliott said, adding that 121 are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 25 are fully vaccinated.
She also added that 24,387,806 vaccine doses have been administered. 90.2% of Ontarians 12+ have one dose and 87.5% have two doses.
