Ontario reports over 2,400 new cases of COVID-19 and 9 additional deaths

Ontario is reporting over 2,400 new casesbof the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) over a 24 hour period.

The Ontario Health also reported 9 additional death due to the virus in the last 24 hours.

“Individuals who are not fully vaccinated represent 23.0% of Ontario’s total population and amount to 758 of Ontario’s 2,421 new reported cases. 133 cases are in individuals with an unknown vaccination status,” Provincial Health Minister Christine Elliott tweeted.

Elliott further added that 328 people are hospitalized due to COVID-19 in Ontario.

According to Elliott, 256 of those in hospital are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 72 are fully vaccinated.

Currently, 165 people are in ICU due to COVID-19. 141 are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 24 are fully vaccinated.

In Ontario, 24,849,505 vaccine doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered. 90.4% of Ontarians 12+ have one dose and 87.7% have two doses.
