Ontario reports over 600 coronavirus cases, 6 additional deaths

The Ontario Health on Saturday reported 661 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) over a 24-hour period.

Christine Elliott, Ontario’s Minister of Health, said the Ontario Health identified 388 cases in individuals who are unvaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status.

Elliott further added that 273 cases were identified in fully vaccinated individuals.

She also added that 263 people are hospitalized with COVID-19, and 131 are being treated in Intensive Care Unit.

194 non-ICU patients are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 69 are fully vaccinated, and 118 in ICU are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status and 13 are fully vaccinated.

In Ontario, 22,699,834 vaccine doses have been administered. Nearly 88.7% of Ontarians 12+ have one dose and 85.4% have two doses.

The Ontario Health on Friday reported 588 COVID-19 cases and 5 additional deaths.
