Ontario is reporting over 700 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and five additional deaths due to the virus over a 24-hour period.
Ontario’s Minister of Health, Christine Elliott, said the authorities identified 728 new cases in the last 24 hours.
Elliott further added that 441 cases are individuals who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status.
She also added that 287 cases have been identified in fully vaccinated individuals.
Furthermore, Elliott, said 283 people are hospitalized due to COVID-19, including 215 partially vaccinated individuals, while 68 are fully vaccinated.
In Ontario, 22,791,463 vaccine doses have been administered. 88.9% of Ontarians 12+ have one dose and nearly 85.9% have two doses.
