Ontario reports zero COVID-19 deaths for the first time in 9 months


For the first time in nine months, the Ontario Health on Wednesday reported zero deaths from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

According to the latest data released by Ontario Health, no additional deaths were reported during the past 24 hours in the province.

Meanwhile, Christine Elliott, Ontario’s Minister of Health, said the Ontario Health identified 194 new positive cases of the COVID-19 in the past 24 hours by completing nearly 27,000 tests.

Elliott further added that 42 of the new cases were identified in the Region of Waterloo, 35 in Toronto, 26 in Peel Region, 16 in Hamilton, and 11 in Grey Bruce.

She also added that as of 5:00 pm, Tuesday, 16,126,179 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines were administered, including 204,594 administered on Tuesday.
