Police identify victim of Saturday’s fatal stabbing in Edmonton

According to a statement released by Edmonton Police Service, a 33-year-old man has also been charged in connection with the incident.

“Shortly after 6 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, police responded to the report of an assault with a weapon in the area of 104 Avenue and 95 Street. Upon arrival, police located a man with serious injuries.”

The statement further added that the officers provided first-aid; however, he succumbed to his injuries on scene.

The Edmonton Medical Examiner completed an autopsy yesterday, Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021, and determined that Eugene Brian Patrick Louis, 27, died as a result of a stab wound, the statement said, adding that the manner of death is homicide.

The Edmonton Police also added that the homicide detectives have since arrested and charged Jorge James McConnell, 33, with second degree murder in relation to Louis’ death.
