Quebec reports 15,874 new cases of COVID-19 over a 24-hour period

The Ministry of Health and Social Services of Quebec announced Thursday that the health authorities have identified 15,874 new cases of COVID-19.

The ministry also added that 26 additional deaths were also reported due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.

There was an increase of 203 in overall hospitalizations due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, increasing the total number of hospitalized individuals to 1,953.

A total of 415 individuals were admitted to hospital in the last 24 hours, while 212 others were discharged.

Currently, 207 people are in Intensive Care Unit, receiving treatment for COVID-19. There was an increase of 16 in ICU numbers in the past 24 hours.

The Ministry of Health and Social Services also added that 99,216 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were administered, including 95,350 in the last 24 hours and 3,866 before January 5, for a total of 15,399,427 doses administered in Quebec.

Outside Quebec, a total of 252,452 doses were administered, for a cumulative total of 15,651,879 doses received by Quebecers.
