Quebec reports 2,955 new cases of COVID-19, hospitalizations drop by 94


The Ministry of Health and Social Services of Quebec announced Saturday that the health authorities have identified 2,995 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the last 24 hours.

The ministry also added that 33 people died of the virus over a 24 hour period.

Currently, a total of 2,447 people are hospitalized due to COVID-19 in Quebec, a decrease of 94 as compared to Friday.

There was a reduction of 91 in non-ICU wards where COVID-19 patients are being treated. A total of 2,266 people are currently receiving treatment in non-ICU wards for COVID-19.

In Intensive Care Unit, 181 people are being treated for COVID-19, a decrease of 3 as compared to the previous day.

The Quebec Health on Friday reported 3,400 new cases of COVID-19 and 42 additional deaths due to the virus over a 24 hour period.
