Quebec reports 525 coronavirus cases and 8 additional deaths


Quebec is reporting 525 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and 8 additional deaths in the last 24 hours.

The Ministry of Health and Social Services of Quebec said the health authorities collected 30,568 samples and identified 525 positive cases.

Reporting a slight reduction in hospitalizations, the ministry further added that 248 people are hospitalized due to COVID-19, and 70 people are in Intensive Care Unit.

15 people were admitted to hospital in the last 24 hours while 17 others were discharged, the ministry said, adding that 2 people were admitted in Intensive Care Unit, while 3 others were discharged.

Quebec’s health ministry also added that eight people died of the virus in the las 24 hours, for a total of 11,496 deaths

Meanwhile, 11,671 doses of COVID-10 vaccine were administered, including 11,058 doses which were administered in the last 24 hours and 613 before November 2, for a total of 13,271,874 doses administered in Quebec.

Quebec on Tuesday reported 490 cases of COVID-19 and six additional deaths over a 24-hour period.
