Quebec reports 588 coronavirus cases, zero additional deaths


Quebec is reporting 588 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and zero additional deaths in the last 24 hours.

The Ministry of Health and Social Services of Quebec said the health authorities collected 30,822 samples and identified 588 positive cases.

The province reported a decline in hospitalizations for the second straight day. There are currently 241 people hospitalized due to COVID-19, a decrease of 7 compared to the previous day.

63 people are receiving treatment in intensive care, a decrease of 7 compared to the previous day, the Ministry of Health and Social Services added.

Nine people were admitted to hospital in the last 24 hours while 16 others were discharged, the ministry said, adding that 4 people were admitted in Intensive Care Unit, while 11 others were discharged.

Quebec’s health ministry also added that no additional deaths were reported in the las 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 13,496 doses of COVID-10 vaccine were administered, including 12,871 doses which were administered in the last 24 hours and 625 before November 3, for a total of 13,285,370 doses administered in Quebec.

Quebec on Wednesday reported 525 cases of COVID-19 and 8 additional deaths over a 24-hour period.
