Quebec reports 6,361 new cases of COVID-19 over a 24-hour period


Quebec is reporting 6,361 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) over a 24 hour period.

The Ministry of Health and Social Services of Quebec said two additional deaths were also reported due to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Currently, 445 people are hospitalized due to COVID-19 in Quebec, an increase of 30 as compared to previous day.

A total of 76 COVID-19 patients were admitted to hospital in the last 24 hours and 46 others were discharged.

The ministry also added that 88 people are currently receiving treatment in Intensive Care Unit for COVID-19, a number that remained stable as compared to Tuesday.

Twelve people were admitted to ICU due to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, while as many others were discharged.

88,424 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were administered, including 83,137 in the last 24 hours and 5,287 before December 21, for a total of 14,523,777 doses administered in Quebec.

Outside Quebec, a total of 245,477 doses were administered, for a cumulative total of 14,769,254 doses received by Quebecers.

The Quebec Health on Tuesday reported 5,043 new cases of COVID-19 and eight additional deaths.
