Quebec reports 7,382 new cases and 68 deaths due to COVID-19 on Friday


Quebec is reporting 7,382 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and 68 additional deaths on Friday.

The Ministry of Health and Social Services of Quebec said 3,085 hospitalizations, an increase of 91 compared to the previous day.

A total of 442 individuals were admitted to hospital due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours and 351 others were discharged.

Currently, 275 people are in intensive care, an increase of 3 compared to the previous day, the Ministry of Health and Social Services said, adding that 43 individuals were admitted to ICU in the last 24 hours, while 40 others were discharged.

The ministry also added that 114,721 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were administered, including 108,768 in the last 24 hours and 5,953 before January 13, for a total of 16,195,112 doses administered in Quebec.

Outside Quebec, a total of 258,137 doses were administered, for a cumulative total of 16,453,249 doses received by Quebecers.

The Quebec Health on Thursday reported 8,793 new cases of COVID-19 and 45 additional deaths over a 24 hour period.
