Quebec reports nearly 2,000 new cases of COVID-19 over a 24-hour period


Quebec is reporting nearly 2,000 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) over a 24-hour period.

The Ministry of Health and Social Services of Quebec said Saturday the authorities identified 1,982 new cases of COVID-19 across the province in the last 24 hours.

The ministry also added that the four additional deaths were also reported due to COVID-19 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the ministry, said 251 people are hospitalized due to COVID-19 in Quebec.

There has been a slight reduction in overall hospitalizations in the last 24 hours.

Currently, 188 people are being treated in non-ICU words for COVID-19 and 63 others are receiving treatment in Intensive Care Unit.

Quebec on Friday reported 2,013 new cases of COVID-19 and six additional deaths over a 24-hour period.
