Quebec reports over 1,500 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday


The Quebec Health on Saturday announced that the health authorities have identified over 1,500 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the last 24 hours.

The Ministry of Health and Social Services of Quebec said the health authorities identified 1,512 new cases across the province.

The ministry in a statement said one additional death due to COVID-19 was also reported in the last 24 hours.

The statement further added that there was a slight decrease in overall hospitalizations in the past 24 hours.

Currently, 225 people are hospitalized due to COVID-19, a decrease of five as compared to the previous day.

The statement also added that 165 people are being treated in non-ICU wards for COVID-19, a decrease of eight as compared to Friday.

In Intensive Care Unit, 60 people are receiving treatment for COVID-19, an increase of three as compared to the previous day.

The Ontario Health on Friday reported 1,355 new cases of COVID-19 and two additional deaths over a 24-hour period.
