Quebec reports over 17,100 new cases of COVID-19 over a 24-hour period

Quebec is reporting over 17,100 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) over a 24 hour period.

The Ministry of Health and Social Services of Quebec announces Saturday that the health authorities have identified 17,122 new cases in the past 24 hours.

The ministry also reported that eight additional deaths were also reported due to COVID-19.

A total of 1,161 people are hospitalized due to COVID-19 in Quebec. There was an increase of 98 in overall hospitalizations.

Currently, 1,008 people are being treated in non-ICU wards for COVID-19, an increase of 96 as compared to the previous day.

153 individuals are receiving treatment for COVID-19 in Intensive Care Unit, an increase of two as compared to Friday.

The Ministry of Health and Social Services of Quebec on Friday reported 16,461 new cases of COVID-19 and 13 additional deaths.
