Quebec reports over 1,800 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday


Quebec is reporting over 1,800 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and one additional death over a 24-hour period.

The Ministry of Health and Social Services of Quebec in a statement said the health authorities identified I dentified 1,807 new cases of COVID-19 out of 39,089 samples on Decemeber 7, 2021.

The statement further added that 255 people are hospitalized due to the virus, an increase of 13 compared to the previous day.

35 individuals were admitted to hospitalin the past 24 hours, 22 others were discharged.

Currently, 60 people in intensive care unit due to COVID-19, an increase of 1 compared to Wednesday.

The ministry also added that 34,634 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were administered, including 33,799 in the last 24 hours and 835 before December 8, for a total of 13,863,084 doses administered in Quebec.

The Quebec Health and Social Services Ministry in Wednesday reported 1,367 new casesbof COVID-19 and two additional deaths over a 24-hour period.
