Quebec reports over 2,700 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday


Quebec is reporting 2,736 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) over a 24-hour period.

The Ministry of Health and Social Services of Quebec in a statement said five additional deaths were also reported in the lastn24 hours.

The statement further added that 305 people are currently hospitalizedbdue to COVID-19 in Quebec, a decrease of four compared to the previous day.

Currently, 63npeople in intensive care, a decrease of 10 compared to Wednesday.

The ministry also added thatt 54,570 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were administered, including 52,143 in the last 24 hours and 2,427 before December 15, for a total of 14,136,257 doses administered in Quebec.

Outside Quebec, a total of 241,389 doses were administered, for a cumulative total of 14,377,646 doses received by Quebecers.

The Quebec Health on Wenesday reported 2,386 new cases of COVID-19 and four additional deaths over a 24-hour period.
