Quebec reports over 8,200 new cases of COVID-19 and 10 additional deaths

Quebec is reporting over 8,200 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) over a 24-hour period.

The Ministry of Health and Social Services of Quebec said the health authorities identified 8,231 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

The ministry also added that ten additional deaths were also reported due to COVID-19 during the period.

Currently, 614 people are hospitalized due to COVID-19 in Quebec, including 505 non-ICU patients.

In Intensive Care Unit, 109 people are being treated for COVID-19, the Ministry of Health and Social Services added.

There has been an increase of 141 in over all hospitalizations since the authorities last released the official data on 22nd December.

The non-ICU hospitalization has increased by 123 in the past five days, while there has been an increase of 18 in total number of patients being treated in Intensive Care.
