Quebec reports over 900 COVID-19 cases, 5 additional deaths in past 24 hours


Quebec is reporting over 900 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and five additional deaths due to the virus over a 24-hour period.

The Ministry of Health and Social Services of Quebec said the authorities identified 902 new cases in the last 24 hours.

The ministry also added that 210 people are hospitalized due to COVID-19 in Quebec, a reduction of one as compared to previous day.

Twenty people were admitted to hospital in the last 24 hours, while 21 others were discharged.

Quebec also reported a decrease in admissions to Intensive Care Unit due to COVID-19. Currently, 45 people are being treated in ICU for COVID-19.

Five new deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, for a total of 11,571 deaths since the beginning of pandemic in Quebec.

The Ministry of Health and Social Services of Quebec also added that 16,513 doses of COVID-19 vaccine were administered, including 16,218 in the last 24 hours and 295 before November 24, for a total of 13,501,953 doses administered in Quebec.
