Saskatchewan reports 233 COVID-19 cases and five additional deaths in past 24 hours


Saskatchewan reported 233 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and five additional deaths in the past 24 hours.

“The new cases are located in the Far North West (15), Far North East (9), North West (18), North Central (18), North East (3), Saskatoon (54), Central West (1), Central East (23), Regina (35), South West (3), South Central (5), and South East (24) zones and fifteen (15) new cases have pending residence information,” the Saskatchewan Government said in a statement.

The statement further addd that currently, there are 2,440 active cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan, while 73,558 cases are considered recovered.

As of October 27th, a total of 271 individuals are hospitalized, including 214 inpatient hospitalizations and 57 ICU hospitalizations.

Of the 271 patients, 194 (71.6%) were not fully vaccinated. Four (4) additional cases were transferred to Ontario, for a total of sixteen (16) SK cases who have been transferred out-of-province to date.

The Saskatchewan Government also added that ive new deaths reported on Wednesday. 832 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died, with a case fatality rate of 1.1%.

Saskatchewan on Tuesday reported 126 cases of COVID-19 and ten additional death over a 24-hour period.
