Several people, mostly civilians, are feared dead or wounded following an explosion which took place close to a mosque in Kabul city.
Zabiullah Mujahid, a spokesperson for Taliban, had earlier tweeted that the explosion targeted a gathering of civilians, leaving many people dead or wounded.
Meanwhile, the local media outlets, quoting official sources, reported that the explosion killed at least 8 people and wounded at least 20 others.
However, Syed Khosti, a spokesperson for Ministry of Interior, has said the explosion killed two people and wounded 3 others.
The Emegency Hospital confirmed in a tweet that four wounded people have been transferred to the hospital so far.
No individual or group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
The explosion near the Eidgah mosque took place as a memorial service was underway for the mother of Zabiullah Mujahid.
