Teen girl among 2 arrested in connection with the murder of taxi driver in Manitoba


The Royal Canadian Mounted Police arrested two individuals, including a teen girl, in connection with the murder of a taxi driver in Manitoba.

“On November 2, 2021, RCMP Major Crime Services investigators saw the culmination of years of work when they were able to inform the family of Jeff Peters that two individuals are in custody and charged in the homicide of the Portage la Prairie taxi driver,” the RCMP said in a statement.

The statement further added RCMP arrested a 16-year-old female, in Portage, on October 27, 2021, On November 2, 2021, RCMP arrested Trevor Donovan Roulette, 20, in Portage.

Both are charged with Second Degree Murder and are remanded in custody in Winnipeg, RCMP said, adding that it is believed there are no further suspects at this time.

The officers located the body of peters after responding to a report of an unresponsive male outside the town of MacGregor on May 20, 2019, at approximately 8:20 pm.

The officers located the taxi cab driven by Mr. Peters at the Sportsplex in Brandon, Manitoba, May 23rd, 2019, at 12:05pm.

The RCMP also added that the information previously released, assisted in the apprehension of the two accused.
