The Toronto Police have arrested a former babysitter who sexually assaulted a 7-year-old boy between 2014 and 2016.
According to a statement released by Toronto Police, the man allegedly baby-sat a 7-year-old boy while working as a babysitter/care giver between 2014 and 2016 a man worked in a Toronto home.
The statement further added that the man repeatedly sexually assaulted the child. The offences occurred in residences in the O’ Connor Drive and St. Clair Avenue East area and the Queen Street East and Carlaw Avenue area
In August 2021, members of the Child and Youth Advocacy Centre (CYAC) commenced an investigation, the Toronto Police said, adding that on August 13, 2021, CYAC officers arrested the man as a result of the investigation.
The Toronto Police also added that Gianni Jarman, formerly known as Gianni Pate, 41, of Toronto, was charged with two counts of Sexual Assault, two counts of Sexual Interference, and two counts of Invitation to Sexual Touching.
Currently employed as a teacher with the Toronto District School Board at Secord Elementary School, Jarman is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Friday, September 17, 2021, at 9 a.m., room 117.
