Toronto Police arrest man for stealing 14 diamond rings from a jewelry store


The Toronto Police announced Wednesday they have arrested a man who stole 14 diamond rings from a jewelry store.

“On Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at 6:33 p.m. officers responded a radio call for robbery in progress at Sheppard Avenue East and Don Mills area,” the Toronto Police said in a statement.

The statement further added that the man broke glass displays with a sledge hammer while the employees were inside the store.

The man fled after the mall security attended and engaged with him, the Toronto Police said, adding that police arrived and a short foot pursuit took place.

The Toronto Police also added that the officers were able to apprehend the man and recover the stolen property of fourteen diamond rings.

On Tuesday, January 4, 2022, Abdulla Abdul-Hussain, 20, of Toronto was arrested in relation to the robbery and was charged with Robbery, Disguise with Intent, and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.

He is to appear in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West on Wednesday, January 5, 2022.
