The Toronto Police announced Monday that they have launched an investigation into a shooting incident which occurred at a party near Adelaide Street West.
Seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect, the Toronto Police said the officers responded to a shooting in the Adelaide Street West and John Street area in Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 3:38 a.m.
The officers arrived on scene of a vacant space in a building that appeared to have been used as a venue for a party and located a man in his 30s, inside the club, who had been shot.
The man was transported to hospital by paramedics with life-threatening injuries, the Toronto Police said, adding that the man is currently in a stable condition in hospital
It is believed that 200 to 300 people were inside the venue when the shooting took place. No guests remained on scene upon police arrival.
The Toronto Police also added that investigators are seeking information about the event that took place and are asking anyone who has information about who organized the event to contact officers.
