Toronto Police launch homicide investigation after attending a fire call, locating a deceased man


The Toronto Police announced Monday that they have launched a homicide investigation after responding to a fire call and locating a deceased man.

“On Monday, September 27, 2021, at 12:12 a.m., officers attended a fire call in the Reesor Road and Old Finch Avenue area,” the Toronto Police said in a statement.

The statement further added that the officers arrived on scene and located a deceased man.

The man is described as 5’8″ to 5’10”, average build, approximately 25 to 35 years-old, light brown complexion, short dark hair, short dark facial hair, plain gold band on left ring finger, wearing a pair of black Air Jordan shoes with red soles.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled for Tuesday, September 28, 2021, the Toronto Police said, adding that the homicide section has taken carriage of the investigation.

The Toronto Police also added that the investigators are appealing for the assistance from witnesses and members of the public who may be able to identify the man or have information regarding the incident. Anyone that has dash-cam and video surveillance is asked to contact Homicide.
