The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) has deployed a team of investigators to Montreal following a fatal plane crash.
” The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) has deployed a team of investigators to the site of an accident involving a Cessna 172 banner towing aircraft in Montreal, Quebec,” TSB said in a statement.
Montreal Mayor Valerie Plante issued a statement online, saying “My team and I are closely monitoring developments following the crash of a small plane in Dieppe Park. My thoughts are with the family of the deceased.”
The statement further added that The TSB will gather information and assess the occurrence.
The incident took place near the Osheaga festival site around 6 p.m. on Saturday, leaving one person dead and another wounded.
The plane reportedly took off from St-Mathieu-de-Laprairie Airport and crashed shortly after touching the ground.
