US to permit entry to Canadians with mixed COVID-19 vaccine doses

The United States will permit entry to Canadians who have received mixed doses of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccines.

“Happy to say that the US government has confirmed they will recognize Canadians with mixed COVID-19 vaccine doses as fully vaccinated at the US land border and they will be permitted entry for non-essential travel,” Bill Blair, the Miniser of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness of Canada, said in an online statement.

Balir had earlier announced that United States will reopen land border with Canada on 8th of November.

“We have received confirmation from the US government that it will re-open its land border on November 8, 2021 for fully-vaccinated travellers from Canada undertaking non-essential travel,” he said.

Blair further added that the travellers shoukf make sure to check with the Department of Homeland Security for official US entry requirements prior to travelling.

All travellers should also make sure they are eligible to re-enter Canada before leaving, he said.

Meanwhile, Blair said entry requirements for non-essential travellers into Canada remain unchanged, including mandatory pre-arrival COVID-19 testing and proof of fully-vaccinated status.
